I was standing near a pool of water when the killer whale came up to the rim, belly exposed, and said, "We are so glad you are here." I woke from this dream, moved to tears by the gentleness and love shared by this magnificent creature.
From that point, I have been drawn to learn more about the lessons we can learn from this family of mammals. Did you know there are ninety or so different species of cetaceans - including dolphins and porpoises? There are so many possibilities for messages and meanings. I have listened to my intuition and followed its sensitivity to sound, the belief that they are the carrier of the most ancient language. When the whale comes into my consciousness, I consider my current situation for how sonar or echo-location works to direct and provide feedback. It helps me determine the source of the words or impressions I am receiving and discern their meaning. It's a way for me to consider the source of the energy being sent to me so that I may validate the intention of the message. Since my focus with animal communication, at this time, is primarily earth based - I have yet to meet someone with a pet dolphin - it would be easy for me to overlook the power of the sea and it's creatures. I have talked with Koi fish before. It was a pretty quick discussion about the limited amount of room they had in their pond. Although I was remote and had not seen their living conditions the owner found it interesting to hear them ask for more room and confirmed they had outgrown their surroundings. As I continue to increase my awareness of these water based guides I find myself also drawn to follow Moon cycles. More on that next time.
